Since we returned to Alaska on Christmas day we have been dealing with sub zero weather. Not just a little cold... but -10 to -20 on a regular basis. At first it wasn't too bad, we just hung out inside. After two weeks of it we started to catch a little cabin fever. Rounding into week three it was just starting to get old. Monday it broke above zero for a little while, and today when I went home for lunch it was up to 25 degrees. Living in Alaska has been great, sometimes its a little harsh, but there is nothing that can compare to the beauty that is around us... its just nice when its warm enough to enjoy it.
Just to give you a little glimpse into what we get to enjoy around here on a regular basis. On Saturday we drove into Anchorage to celebrate Chelsea's birthday. On our drive in we saw a couple of bald eagles... but the truly amazing thing happened when we pulled into Chelsea's parents driveway. Chelsea got out of the car and made a slightly panicked sound. The reason she made this sound was because about 15 feel in front of her was a 2 year old bull moose. If any of you have seen moose you know that at that age they are quite big. Now having been here for quite a few summers, and have lived here for over half a year, but it still amazes me to be able to see God's creation up close and personal. I am truly blessed to be able to serve God in this place.
