Week 2

We just finished up week 2 of campers. It was a great week. We had 35 campers at Alpine Camp and they reminded both Aaron and I of our days during jr. High Weeks. We were constantly watching the boys and the girls making sure we knew where they were at all times, and telling counselors that they needed to keep being intentional with their campers... (at this age some of them don't want to hang out with even counselors). We dealt with a few issues among the campers, and I think overall many of the campers went home with a renewed passion to have "monster faith" (our theme for the year).

We our now on to week 3. Campers came in yesterday and there were 54 Alpine campers that showed up. Our biggest week yet! We are still somewhat understaffed this summer and only had 5 counselors, so we borrowed a Ranch camp counselor for the girls and made three big girl cabins. It looks like it is going to be a fun week, but a little crazy. Our assistant director had to go back to Michigan for the week unexpectedly and so Aaron is pretty much running the show on his own (I'm trying to help out wherever I can).

This week we could use prayer on a couple of things
  1. With such big cabins, that the counselors would be able to connect with all their campers and share God's love to them all. (Camp names for counselors & counselors in training (CIT) if you want to pray by name are Ginger, Bugsy, Crisco, Eisley, Batty, Kinkos, Kicker, and Bandana (girls) and Blitz, Fourleaf, Twitch, Diego, and Snoopy (guys))
  2. Aaron would have wisdom to deal with any "problems"that come up
  3. Health for Aaron and I (we've been fighting colds) and for our staff
  4. Sanity and peace this week as we try to show God to these campers and make this camping experience their best
  5. Wednesday night we will be camping out in tents, so good weather for Wed. Would also be a plus.
Thank you all so much for reading this and praying for us! I know this is a little scattered, but I will update again at the end of the week and hopefully have some camper stories to share with you!
