This month has been a month of many blessings. The time we were able to get away and spend with family was so good and so needed. Aaron and I both ended the trip refreshed and excited to be back in Alaska.
Let me start at the beginning of God things that have happened since we have finished our vacation. The first big thing was that while we were gone my dad offered to try and sell our car. We thought it was a long shot, but were interested in the upgrade my dad had to offer us. We took him up on his offer to try and sell it planning on pulling off the market as soon as we got home. The Monday before we got home it sold! For more than we were expecting! We were able to upgrade to a 2011 Subaru outback for not much money, and it fits Raylee's Car seat a lot better. A big God thing that wouldn't have happened with out Him.
The next thing that I really saw God's hand is was a visit with an old friend. On our way home from Michigan we spent 2 nights in Washington. My room mate from Sophomore year at Grace is working at a camp outside of Seattle and I thought it would be fun to see her. I didn't realize how refreshing it would be to talk to someone with a similar passion for camping ministry, that wasn't directly involved in our day to day life! It was fun to hear about her camp and what God is teaching her and how He is using her, and to tell her about Victory. (I am secretly praying that someday He will call her up here to serve... but that would have to be in His timing!) I think this recharged me the most during the whole vacation. Giving me a sense of excitement about where God has me and what He is doing.
When we got home we immediately got the chance to move. We loved our old house, but something else became available and we were excited to have a little more room and a bathtub for Raylee! We are now in one of my favorite houses on camp and have jumped into making it our home for as long as God has us here! If you are ever in the area please stop by and check out our view! And come in for a cup of coffee, I love visitors and am excited to have more room to have people over. Hopefully I will get pictures up of it as we paint and finish putting our final touches on rooms.
Shortly after we got home we had a huge answer to prayer. Victory has been trying to fill the position of Program director with a full time staff for the last few years. Justin and Lynsey Hostettor arrived at camp as well as Derek and Bridget McAlary. Both men will be working in the program department to some extent and Justin will be the program director. This will be a huge help to Aaron and will hopefully provide opportunity for our camps to continue to develop and grow. And Aaron will be able to assist Justin and hopefully continue to follow a few of his visions into add some new things to Victory.
The last huge blessing that we have had since we have been here is from
our Anchorage Grace Church family. The college group came up last
weekend and helped us fill our wood shed. We kept 11 people busy all
day cutting, chopping, hauling, and stacking wood.
Here is an almost before picture of our wood shed... I didn't think of taking this till they were an hour in, but you can see the back of the woodshed at the top... there was nothing in it at the beginning.
The group after they finished!
Just to see how much got done, here is the 7.5 cords of wood!
The view from our Deck... Don't we have an awesome God?
Just for kicks... here is a picture of Raylee just hanging around the house!
Thank you all for your continued prayer and support!
