Hey... Who turned out the lights?

So life in Alaska has started to get a little dreary. I am currently sitting at the front desk at camp serving my role filling in for the secretary who has left on a 3 month vacation (retired people have the best lives). It is currently 4:15pm and the sun has been gone for a couple of hours now, and the sky is quickly getting dark. It will be pitch black in about 45 minutes. I am really struggling to get used to this fact. People say that depression sets in due to the lack of sun. I don't believe that I am at a depressed state, but ALL I EVER WANT TO DO IS SLEEP!!! Its kinda driving me crazy. Anyway enough complaining about the lack of sun.

Chelsea and I are really enjoying our time up here. We were able to go skating out on the pond a couple of weeks ago, and we are starting to be able to enjoy the snow that has been on the ground since the beginning of October. While at camp I have been spending my days working on a monthly newsletter which I have added to our website on the right, as well as planning for a retreat that I will be running the second weekend of December. Since I only work at camp two days a week in the winter I don't have much time to do anything else.

Things at church are going very well. We returned from a retreat a couple of weeks ago where we took 19 of the youth (junior and senior high) to a church in Anchorage. While there we spend a good deal of time hanging out with one another. I also got to do a little praise and worship with my youth pastor friend Josh. That was a huge blessing. I really miss working in ministry with him. Other than that the youth group meetings at church have been going well, and I feel like I have a good idea of what my role is at Glacier View Bible Church. I will try to post some pictures of my church, and the scenery around it in the near future... It will make you all quite jealous I'm sure. OK well i guess that's all I have for now. I hope you are all doing well, and I look forward to seeing many of you in Michigan when we come home for Christmas.
