I just got done reading Aaron's last blog and thought I would update you on life since August. Camp is over and it was fun. It is different being married on staff instead of being a counselor, but I love being part of the ministry that is done over the summer with campers and counselors both. I think that the biggest adjustment to my call to ministry over the years has been from a person that has one week to impact a campers life, to someone that is there for the long haul. I am still learning what that means, and how it affects my relationships, but I am excited to see where this new journey takes me.
Outside of the summer, we have fully switched back into "winter" mode. Many people might think that winter mode is more relaxed with little going on at camp, in fact, Aaron and I were under that impression for a really long time, and almost dreamed of that being the case come this fall. But we knew we were lying to ourselves. Winter at camp comes with it's own business. I have ofter heard the question "What do you do out in the middle of nowhere?". Well the middle of nowhere is quite a community in and of itself. There are probably at least a couple of hundred people considered in our "community" which ranges from this side of Sutton up past Eureka (Maybe 100 miles ish). All that to say, we pretty much the same things going on as everyone who lives in a town. From community volleyball and baskettball, youth group, Church, tutoring club, playing games with friends, and any other events that come up over the week. We often have to drive into town to get groceries or attend sporting events, but that is about it. Sometimes we spend nights in town at my parents to get in our fix of town, shopping, and movies.
Outside of evening activities, I have taken many roles at the school. I graduated with my degree in secondary math and started tutoring at Glacier View School (K-12 school, 39 students). I was shortly offered the job as lunch lady, and this year that job has now evolved into not only lunch lady, but they have taken me on to be a part time teacher as a reading literacy coach, and a quarter time math tutor. I love being at the school and getting the extra opportunity to spend more time with my youth group kids.
You can easily see now how, even out in the middle of nowhere, Aaron and I have found ways to stay busy in God's work. I think our biggest problem though, is that in the midst of our busyness we forget that we are doing God's work. We try to do it on our own and don't remember to invite God into our business daily. If you read this, that is where we need prayer the most. Remember to spend time in God's word and that our strength should come from Him and not ourselves.
I will try and update this more often, so that my posts don't end up so long and daunting to read, but thank for your prayers and the time that you invest in our lives.

Chelsea,
I will be praying for you and Aaron, that you would remember that you are doing God's work and that you can do it only by relying on His strength. I need prayer for the same thing, actually. Teaching is wearing me down this year, and it's discouraging. I need to remember that I'm working for the Lord and that He can and will give me the strength I need each day. Miss you, friend!
Amanda
