While summer staff is starting to arrive. So far I have met the nurse, Frontier director and assistant, and a girl counselor. More are coming in today and tomorrow for leadership week, then we do our full fledged orientation next week! It is crazy how fast summer comes and how quickly it gets crazy around here.
Even with summer starting we are still in desperate need of a few people. We could still use lifeguards! We were shorter and Aaron just found out today that we may be short one more. To have waterfront run to it's full capacity we need 3 guards down there at a time. Right now we have 2 coming and they both have other jobs to do as well as lifeguard. So if you could pray for one more full time lifeguard that would be awesome... or if you are certified and want to come up at all to help out let us know!
We could also really use another guy counselor or two... we have enough to fill the minimum (at least to give every camp one) but we could open up to more campers if we had another guy or two come.
As for other holes, they are slowly filling and coming together. It looks like Aaron is going to be busy as not only the program director, but also directing Ranch camp. It is the smaller of the 4 camps, but will still continue to stretch him as he balances yet another job... Good thing there is only so many hours in a day! We had a huge blessing last week when one of the youth pastors from Anchorage called and inquired about helping us out with the staff counselor position. So He and his wife will be up here most weekends with the sole job of pouring into our staff. This is a huge answer to prayer.
As to my job, I am planning on still doing bookkeeping all summer, but I will also be teaching a life session. You can pray that in the business of summer I find time to spend with God, and He will show me exactly what to teach from week to week.
I will try and keep you updated on how the summer is going and more specific needs that arise throughout the summer.
