Aaron started out the summer as program director and ranch camp director. He had someone in mind out of his ranch staff to mentor into being the ranch camp director by the end of the summer, but was planning on easing her into it... plans got changed. After 6 weeks straight of starting work at 7:30 and often not getting home till 10 or 11, his body just couldn't do it anymore. Last Saturday I was told by one of our EMT on staff to take him to the doctor to get looked at. About 6 hrs after campers left Aaron and I got back from Urgent care learning he had a lung infection and possible bronchitis... So he has been on antibiotics this week and trying to take it a bit easier.
We are so thankful that his staff has really stepped up to the challenge and is filling in the gaps of where he can't be! At this point in the summer Aaron in theory shouldn't be missed at all if he is gone, (as long as he has done his job and his staff is properly trained) and our staff is awesome and proving this to be true!!! It is just so hard for Aaron and I to remember that God knows and has it under control and to take a needed step back and let things go. Aaron is no longer directing Ranch camp, the girl he was mentoring has stepped up to the challenge and is doing a phenomenal job leading that staff and taking that load off of Aaron's plate.
Besides Aaron getting sick... A lot else has happened this summer. I have been out a lot attending to family stuff. I went to my Grandpa Floyd's birthday, and My sister Sarah got married on June 17. Both Aaron and I got out of camp to attend that wedding at Alyeska. It was beautiful! I am excited for Sarah as she begins this new journey in her life.
I have also been able to lead the youth group in a service project to start raising funds to go on a missions trip next March. We are still working on the location, but we were able to raise $1000 towards it and will hopefully continue that fund raising as soon as Aaron and I get back from Michigan in the fall.
Sunday we leave to go on the staff trip. We are excited to go visit Camp LIWA in fairbanks and then to spend some time in Anchorage doing some ministry development sessions.
Thank you all for your prayer and support!
