It was looking a lot like spring a few weeks ago, and yesterday we woke up yet again to fresh snow... I love living in Alaska, but get really antsy for Spring weather and being able to walk on dry pavement down the road and push our stroller! (although Raylee is really fond of her sled, she she will be sad when it's finally put away). Today it is once again looking like spring and a high of 37 degrees and the sun is once again shinning in our windows!
But with spring always seems to come sickness... last week Aaron was stuck at home the majority of the week with an awful bug that both Raylee and I did our best to avoid. when he just started feeling better Friday, we packed up and took 15 youth on a weekend retreat to Birchwood Camp in Eagle River. It was a good retreat, although you could tell Aaron and I's energy level was significantly lower then it usually is... But we had a good time connecting with our kids and teaching them about being bold in sharing their faith. I am hoping that through the weekend it really sunk in that they could share there faith to anyone, and that opportunities were all around them even in a small community such as Glacier View!
We came home from the retreat tired, but happy about how it went... Then Wednesday the bug hit me... I know it is bad for Aaron, but I hate being sick too, and I think I was in denial all morning. It is easy to write Nauseousness off at this point as morning sickness, but as the day drew on I decided that maybe it was more than that, and I have been trying to lay low ever since.. It is really hard for me though. I hate being coped up in my room all day without doing anything, and I hate that every time Raylee would see me (if I came out for water or the bathroom or something) she would have a fit because she wants her momma... But I am hoping the worst of it is over and I will be better in time to head off to town tomorrow.
This weekend we are going to Kids Day at the De'naina Center in Anchorage. Victory will be setting up a booth where we can advertise for our camp! Hopefully it will get kids interested in coming for the summer and learning about the love of God. If you are at kids day you should definitely stop by and say hi!

If it makes you feel better we had snow on the ground in Michigan this morning too. Hopefully we all get some warm weather soon!
